What would you do if you came across a hidden musical gem? Some rush to tell everyone, while others treat it as a secret gem. The principal of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf School of Music picked the former and shared it with the world.
The principal recognized something remarkable in young Akim Camara and couldn’t wait to showcase his talent. He contacted the renowned Dutch musician André Rieu, knowing the child’s skills were way beyond his years.
When Rieu met Akim, he was blown away by the boy’s inherent talent for the violin and chose to tutor him. Akim quickly advanced from a normal student to an emerging star.
Rieu even invited him to his Maastricht studio, where Akim’s performance captivated the entire orchestra, earning him the opportunity to participate in an upcoming concert.
At the André Rieu Live in New York City event, little Camara made an impression on everyone. His astonishing ability to remember complete musical compositions after just hearing them once or twice impressed the crowd.
Camara took the stage at Radio City Melody Hall and performed the difficult “Dance of the Fairies” on a bigger violin, which was ideal for the complex melody. As he began to play, the crowd went quiet, utterly captivated by this exceptional young musician’s ability and enthusiasm.
The crowd was stunned when a 5-year-old child went forward and expertly executed such a difficult performance. As the music filled the room, the audience couldn’t take their eyes off him.
